Review: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Love That Red

A few days ago, I spotted Revlon at sale in Watsons. I've actually been craving to try their lipsticks since the reviews are pretty good. And then I saw myself swatching the red ones. Torn between the True Red and Love that Red shades, I then got the latter. It's from the Super Lustrous line and as its name, the effect is like a luster of satin.

 Swatched once, twice, thrice

 Under flash lighting

Pros:
  • highly pigmented
  • non-drying
  • glides smoothly
  • doesn't bleed
  • packaging feels sturdy but might be improved for a classy/sossy one (hihi)
  • lasting power is pretty decent (3-4 hours w/o eating/drinking)
  • available nationwide

Cons:
  • can be a bit pricey for cheapskates like me. Retails for Php450 but got it for Php350. Yeah baby!
  • turns orangey on my lips. :(

Rating: 4/5

Have you tried this shade? How about the others? Let me know! :)

Revlon Nail Polish in Cherries in the Snow ~ Review

I stumbled upon this nail polish when I was looking for Hair Dyes. It is the Revlon Nail Polish Cherries in the Snow which has this luxurious fuchsia red in color that is really classy!

This nail enamel is a part of the Cherries in the Snow line that originated since 1953. It also has a matching lip stick which I really want to try. Truly stands the test of time.

 Pros
  • glides smoothly
  • dries quickly
  • one coat is enough because of its pigmented formulation
  • doesn't have an overwhelming smell
  • no bumps when applied
Cons
  • wears off easily
  • expensive (good thing that I got it free!)

Overall Rating: 4/5

Revlon Marble-ous Match Liner/ Shadow Duo in Steel-ing Beauty

Revlon Marble-ous Match Liner/Shadow Duo is a two-in-one pencil were one side is a marbleized eyeliner and the other is a cream eyeshadow. It is a part of the 2008 Limited Edition Collection which I got on sale last April 5, 2012 in a Revlon mini stand. I think it retails for around Php 800+ but I got it for Php285.00. Such a steal right? I got the Steel-ing Beauty which has a lovely metallic sheen with a lavender hue (eye shadow) on the side and a swirling almost black shade that has two contrasting colors (liner) that blend easily.

So here's the look. I used the pencil in my upper lash line and the cream shadow on my lids.

You can blend, layer, and smudge to create a multitude of eye looks with this. However, it only lasts for 4-5 hours and budges most of the time. Maybe due to the tropical climate we have or my oily eyelids, or both? A good primer is really recommended so it won't be easily worn off. Overall, I think this is a good product that lets you all prepped up with just one tool. It also comes in 4 other shades:
  • Set in the Nude
  • Sassy Brassy
  • Orchid You Not
  • Made for Jade

Glad I bought this one. :)
